Join the meal prep squad


It’s second nature for me - It takes me less than an hour to prep all my meals for the week which is around 15 meals


If you’re like me, and are sometimes short on time “busy”, but you also want to crush your habits, meal prep is a M U S T


The main thing with meal prep is that it saves you time and money throughout the week. You could do a lot with 10-15  extra hours or you could travel and unplug with that extra money. Right?


Costco is K I N G when it comes to meal prep. Affordable and organic sources at wholesale prices


This is my grocery list when I go to Costco. Keep in mind you don’t want to overwhelm yourself and pick a million different items your first time there because that can easily happen and then you end up overspending


Pick 2-3 main things like chicken, peppers, and sweet potatoes that can be mixed and prepared in various ways. Once meal prepping becomes a habit in your schedule, you should consider adding more so you don’t get bored of the same things


🎖Proteins - Wild caught salmon, Chicken

🎖Carbs - Sweet Potato and Brown Rice

🎖Veggies - Brussel Sprouts, Spinach

🎖Fats  - Avocados, Olive Oil


A couple of tools to optimize your meal prep game:


5min superfoods breakfast smoothie.

-Protein: 3 whole eggs, 1/2 cup egg-whites

-Carbs: 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cups steel cut oats, 2 scoops proats (pimped oatmeal), 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 frozen banana, 1 tbsp cacao powder, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast.

-Veggies: 2 cups kale and spinach.

-Fats: 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds and 1tbsp hemp seeds.


Make everything taste good.

The number one obstacle to meal prepping is complaining about how your meals taste after a couple of days.Solve that problem by seasoning properly.


Salts:

Himalayan

Rosemary salt

Sea salt

Table salt


Spices:

Turmeric

Ground pepper

Cinnamon

Basil

Bay leaves

Chili powder


I like to prep my proteins with different combinations. I typically season them and let them rest for 45mins prior to beginning my meal prep.


Storage.

Using glass over plastic is something you should consider. Bisphenol-A (BPA) and phthalates are two different types of plastic that act as endocrine disrupters, in other words, they mess up your hormones.

You may want to avoid this by switching to glass storage or stainless steal storage.
